A group of mothers and grandmothers from the Long Plans First Nation in Southern Manitoba are upset with their local child and family services agency.

There are 11,000 children in care in Manitoba.

90 percent of them are First Nations children under the care of various agencies across the province.

These mothers and grandmothers want their leadership to step in and help deal with an agency they say is ignoring them.

  1. We have well over 150 years of ‘lies’ and deliberate indifference as a historical backdrop. Don’t expect ‘this’ government to deal in honesty now.

  2. So take care of your own children like a normal person and quit complaining about the “broken system” that shouldn’t have to exist even, if the natives looked after their kids like normal humans do……..

    1. They take Aboriginal children from homes for no reason. You need to educate yourself of this injustice to Aboriginal people. Then maybe you will understand.

      1. Actually nowadays it takes a lot for children to be taken into care. There are unsafe homes and the problem is not as simple as returning them to their family of origin. First Nation Child Welfare agencies are also seriously underfunded and receive far less than Canadian agencies.

  3. Great job girls 🙂

This is exactly what you need to be doing. Go RIGHT THERE to the agency with your signs posters and the like AND DEMONSTRATE – HOLD A RALLYE …..

CONGRATULATIONS ….. from me to you 🙂

ps. this is my second comment here on this article ….. – the first comment was much more informative 🙂

    1. You are not in MANITOBA. You are on Turtle Island and THEIR CORPORATIONS for THEIR use is here called THE MANITOBA. Comprehend this and the veil of deceit can be lifted. Our children, like us are supposed to derive our funds from the Indian TRUST Fund which was set in 1763 by King George lll. That fund now stands at some $71,000,000,000,000.00 and counting. If you were to add all the later TRUSTS to this one, it would be about 150,000,000,000,000.,, Yes, that is Trillion Dollars.
Both these are in the COURTS now. The &1 is in FEDERAL COURT and THEY are trying to remove it. The 150, is in the SUPREME COURT.
