Canada-based human rights centre, key in developing UNDRIP, set to close

The federal government has announced the closure of the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development, and some who’ve worked with the institution are expressing their disappointment with the announcement.

The Centre will be folded into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In its time, it helped develop the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, or UNDRIP.
