MMIWG2S put InFocus as marches and events take place across the country

With the Sisters in Sprit marches taking place recently, missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and Two-Spirit persons are top of mind once again.

Today on InFocus, Cambria Harris talks about the killing of her mother, Morgan Harris, and the ongoing presence at a Winnipeg landfill where it’s believed there are the remains of two Winnipeg women. They are alleged to be victims of Winnipeg serial killer Jeremy Skibicki.

Hilda Anderson-Pryz, who lost her sister Dawn, said more needs to be done to address all gender-based violence and the Winnipeg situation shows that the need is still great.

Carol McBride is just seven months her term as president of the Native Women’s Association and she said marches and events honouring women and their families need to continue.

Marion Buller is the former head of the National Inquiry into MMIWG2S, she joined Darrell to amplify the need to implement the Calls to Action established by the inquiry.
