Federal government announces $40M for new Cross Lake hospital amid suicide crisis

The First Nation’s chief is now calling on the Manitoba government to match the funds

The Northern Manitoba community of Cross Lake, or Pimicikamak, First Nation remains under a state of emergency.

It was declared in March following a string of suicides.

But an announcement by the federal minister of health has provided a ray of hope.
