WINNIPEG — Homicide detectives with the Winnipeg Police Service are investigating the deaths of two people in the downtown core.

Early Saturday morning, the body of an elderly man was discovered in an alley behind 329 Hargrave street off Portage Ave.

Investigators are only saying his death is suspicious.

Then, across the street, at approximately 6:30 PM, a security guard working with APTN discovered a body behind national network’s building.

Investigators told APTN National News that the body was also a male.

At this point, police believe both deaths are connected.

In the course of their investigation, police seized an APTN National News camera without a warrant.

It was returned a few hours later.

More to come.
