As the Phoenix Sinclair inquiry continues some Manitoba Liberals are examining the current child welfare system.

There are nearly 30,000 First Nations children in care across the country, including 10,000 in Manitoba according to the Assembly of First Nations.

    I watched We were Children last night, To say the treatment of these children is shameful is an understatement and we are just reaping what was sowed. . Putting neglected children into foster care is perpetuating the results – remove from home, etc. Use some of that money to help the families keep and care for their children. More support and mentoring might bring a better solution. Is it going to cost the taxpayers more money? Hopefully only in the short term. Will it bring better results? Can’t be worse than what is happening now.
