‘There is urgency,’ says BC minister

The federal government has long been criticized for its lack of commitment to First Nations child welfare.

Critics say Indian Affairs has stuck to an outdated funding formula which puts First Nations children at a disadvantage.

The Commons committee on Aboriginal affairs is studying the issue.
