Saskatchewan RCMP appealing for information in suspicious death

RCMP in Saskatchewan say they recovered the remains of Candie Pritchard on Red Pheasant Cree Nation earlier this week.

Pritchard, 44, was from Rabbit Lake, a village about 160 km northwest of Saskatoon. Red Pheasant is 105 km northwest of Saskatoon.

A news release says Battlefords RCMP were called to the First Nation on Monday after someone discovered human remains outside a residence.

“An exhaustive search by RCMP Search and Rescue resulted in additional evidence associated to this investigation being located in a treed area along a roadway on Red Pheasant Cree Nation,” the release said. “An autopsy took place on Feb. 7.”

RCMP say they publicized Pritchard’s name because her death is suspicious and they’re looking for information on where she was seen between Jan. 1 and Feb. 5.
