About a hundred people took part in a protest in Battleford, Sask., this week.

The group marched to the courthouse to express anger at former residential school supervisor Paul Leroux.

Leroux is on trial before a judge on charges of indecent assault of over a dozen children under his care in the 1960s.

The group’s speakers included former residential schools survivors and their families. They called on Prime Minister Stephen Harper to honour the apology for residential school abuses.

FSIN Vice Chief Kimberly Jonathan helped organize the protest. She said the past would not be forgotten.
