People suffering from FAD at high risk of confessing to crimes they didn’t commit: AIDWYC

The Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted is in Whitehorse this week.

They were joined by justice workers, lawyers and other social organizations to prevent wrongful convictions in Canadian courts.

One area of concern is individuals with fetal alcohol disorder (FAD). They are more likely to plead guilty to crimes they never committed.

Yukon lawyer Andrea Bailey spoke to APTN about the issue.
