The man convicted of a triple murder and two counts of attempted murder will have a second chance inside a Nunavut courtroom.

In October 2010, Christopher Bishop of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, was convicted of killing three people and wounding two more who tried to break into his home in January 2007.

Bishop’s lawyer is hopeful that his appeal will be heard this spring.

The lawyer plans to argue that bishop was acting in self-defense, a noting the jury rejected at his trial.

Bishop used an illegal AK-47 knock-off with an illegal clip to shoot the home invaders.

At least one was shot in the back.
