McMurray Métis in Alberta breaks ground on new cultural centre

The McMurray Métis broke ground to build a new cultural centre Thursday.

Along with becoming a hub for Métis people in the northern part of Alberta, it’s hoped the Fort McMurray facility will showcase their culture to the world.

The federal government is contributing $16.5 million towards the project, with the McMurray Métis kicking in $5.5 million.
