The Nunavut Impact Review Board is into the last round of hearings on whether to allow the Baffinland Mary River Iron ore project to expand.
The mine is looking to double in size despite some active local opposition.
The hearings are taking place in Iqaluit where there is a ban on using tap water and a state of emergency has been called.
