Great Lakes water gathering at Garden River First Nation draws diverse group for ‘historical moment’

The group of about 200 is gathering to hold ceremony and discuss how to preserve water for future generations

At Garden River First Nation, people from across Ontario are gathering to celebrate water, and to talk about how to preserve that water for future generations.


Annette is Anishinaabe from Alderville First Nation. She started at APTN as an Ottawa Correspondent in 2007 and has covered Indigenous issues from Parliament Hill and First Nation communities across Ontario. She has also freelanced for CBC Indigenous and Ricochet Media.
