Families of MMIW preparing to meet Liberal government Friday in Ottawa

The Liberal government announced Tuesday they will begin the first phase of a national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.

That begins by meeting with families of MMIW in Ottawa Friday.

APTN’s Annette Francis spoke to couple to hear what they want to see happen.

Annette is Anishinaabe from Alderville First Nation. She started at APTN as an Ottawa Correspondent in 2007 and has covered Indigenous issues from Parliament Hill and First Nation communities across Ontario. She has also freelanced for CBC Indigenous and Ricochet Media.
