Two Mi’kmaw fishers in court facing charges for harvesting baby eels

Two Mi’kmaw fishers were in court today facing fishery charges for harvesting baby eels. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans stopped the lucrative fishery back in 2020 due to violence, but the fishers say they were exercising their treaty rights.
