People from the Island Lake region in northeastern Manitoba are being evacuated by the thousands.
Earlier this month, more than 300 people from Poplar River First Nation in Manitoba were evacuated because of smoke from a wildfire.
Alberta and crews have been working to stop the blaze from crossing the border.
The celebration, as well as dresses and tuxedos, were donated to the group from Chemawawin Cree Nation in Northern Manitoba
