Corrections investigator raises alarm bells over prisoner self-harm

Canada’s corrections investigator is worried about the numbers of prisoners who are harming themselves.

Howard Sapers released a report Tuesday showing a dramatic rise in the number of suicides.

What’s alarming is that Aboriginal prisoners make up nearly half of all cases of self harm inside Canada’s prisons.

Howard Sapers spoke to APTN National News from Ottawa.
