For 40 years the Stoney Point band lobbied successive governments to return land that was expropriated from them during World War II.

In 1995 a small group of protestors occupied the land at Ipperwash Provincial Park. In September of that year, the Ontario Provincial Police moved in, shooting and killing Dudley George.

In May 2007, a public inquiry found the OPP, former Ontario premier Mike Harris and the federal government responsible for George’s death.

APTN remembers George and presents a look back at the coverage of the inquiry and its fallout.
