Michelle Friesen becomes first Indigenous woman ever elected to Whitehorse city council

A municipal election for the City of Whitehorse was held on Thursday and for the first time in 30 years an Indigenous person was elected. Michelle Friesen is also the first Indigenous woman ever to be elected and says she hopes her win will inspire other Indigenous people to run.
