Statue honours Annie Peyachew, who never made it home from Battleford Industrial School

According to Battleford Industrial School's commemorative association, it was the first federally-sponsored facility in Canada aimed at assimilating Indian children into white society. The City of North Battleford is honouring a student who never made it home.
