NDP MP blames Caledonia land dispute on feds

NDP MP Matthew Green says the federal government is fully to blame for the rubber bullets and arrests of Haudenosaunee at a construction site in Caledonia, Ont. The site, dubbed 1492 Land Back Lane, has been the scene of confrontation between members of Six Nations of the Grand River and police over disputed land. A land claim has been before the courts for more than two decades. Ottawa has offered to discuss land issues with the community, but no meeting’s been set. Green told Cameraman Steve Mongeau of APTN News that the use of police force is a symptom of federal government inaction.
