MKO says Manitoba’s police watchdog organization needs more Indigenous representation

The Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak says more Indigenous representation is needed within Manitoba’s police watchdog organization. The move comes after the Independent Investigation Unit in Manitoba released a report into the case of a Winnipeg police officer who shot and killed a God's Lake First Nation man last spring.
