Flag raising in Ottawa commemorates the day Louis Riel was executed in 1885

There was a small gathering in Ottawa on Thursday to commemorate the day Métis leader Louis Riel was executed. Métis National Council President Cassidy Caron said Riel was a strong advocate and organizer for his people who paid the ultimate price.
