Harper tells chiefs they should contact their MPs

First Nations leaders will be listening closely to the words Prime Minister Stephen Harper chooses in his speech at the Crown-First Nations gathering Tuesday after he left chiefs feeling underwhelmed by his response to their presentations during a special, two-and-a-half hour meeting with a delegation Monday.


Chiefs to press Harper for meeting including premiers

Prime Minister Stephen Harper may meet with a handful of First Nations leaders Monday in a move may placate some of the anger and disappointment from chiefs over the prime minister’s expected early departure from Tuesday’s “historic” Crown-First Nations Gathering.
