A Dene artist who is a painter is about to have his work exposed to the territory’s phone customers.
Darrell Chocolate won the Northwestel Art Competition.
“I was just out one morning taking pictures and I guess that one snapshot I took by AirTindi Float base inspired me to do a painting,” said Chocolate.
“I never really thought about entering the phone book directory. I just kind of looked at that photograph and thought I should paint it.”
This painting will be seen on the cover of the 2019 NWT phone book.
