WINNIPEG—Winnipeg police released the names of  the two men murdered over the weekend.

Winnipeg police said Donald Collins, 65, was the man found dead at about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday at the rear of 329 Hargrave St.

Police said Stony Stanley Bushie, 48, was found dead at about 6:30 p.m. the same day at the rear of 333 Portage Ave.

Winnipeg police have released images of a person of interest who is believed linked to both murders.

A vigil was held on Sunday night in Winnipeg’s downtown core, close to where the two murders took place.

There were prayers, drum songs and tears for the two people who lost their lives in such a horrific way.

One of the organizers, Chelsea Cardinal said “there’s people out here that love and care about them no matter what socio-economic status they’re in.”

On Monday, police investigators tarped off and removed a number of dumpster bins from behind one of the city’s largest homeless shelters.

Siloam Mission’s Director of Operation, Dan Maxson said Winnipeg police attended the shelter in the morning and said they needed to rope off the area and “take the dumpsters that are part of the investigation.”
