Simone Sanderson’s body was found in a vacant Winnipeg lot in September 2012.

For the years that passed police made no arrests.

It led to the family hiring a private investigator as they were desperate for answers.

On Tuesday, police announced they had made an arrest.

I am assuming it was the PIs who helped uncover evidence that led to charges by the police. Even if it was just a delayed response from the police in the matter after PIs being involved, this is still a sad commentary on how the lives of young FN victims of crime are being devalued in our society. We really need to do better by our FN brothers and sisters.
