Wildfire destroys more than a dozen homes in Paddle Prairie, Alberta

More than a dozen homes in Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement have been destroyed by a wildfire that is covering nearly 250,000 hectares in Northern Alberta.

When the fire first started, people in the community were helping others affected by the smoke and flames.

But about 700 community members were only given a moments notice to leave their homes.
