The root cause of the suicide crisis is a high prevalence of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It came out of the residential schools and is now an epidemic in our nations. The Elders will not be able to help as they are ones who have the disorder so deeply ingrained into their psyches. The only ones who will be able to stop is those youth today who suffer thoughts of hopelessness and suicidal ideation. When they understand the psychological processes that compel our people to hurt each other, they will give their descendants strategies to deal with the epidemic and eventually weed it out. Suicidal youth today are Gen 1: the discoverers. Gen 2 will develop the cure. Gen 3 will initiate wide scale implementation in their homes, communities and the educational system. Gen 4 will be born strong, proud, and ready to kick colonial a**. Be strong, you young people who suffer. There is hope. That hope is you. You will heal your nations.

Things will only get better when people in the community care. What is going on in that community that caused three young girls to take their lives out of hopelessness. No one is forcing Aboriginals to be “hidden in the bush”. Do better for your youth. No one else can help them.
IS THERE NO HELP FOR OUR PEOPLE?? MUST WE LOSE MORE CHILDREN BEFORE SOMEONE REALIZES THAT WE ARE REAL PEOPLE, NOT SAVAGES THAT SOME WHITE MAN HAS HIDDEN IN THE BUSH?? THE LOSS OF ANYONE BY SUICIDE IS BAD. EVEN WORSE WHEN THE COMMUNITY IS ONLY 430 PEOPLE, AND WORSE STILL WHEN IN THAT SMALL COMMUNITY, THAT PERSON IS A CHILD, OUR PEOPLE WILL DIE OUT BECAUSE NO ONE LISTENED, NO ONE HEARD OUR CRY FOR HELP. OR MAYBE THEY JUST DIDN’T CARE …………………………………
I so agree with you something is definately wrong with the federal department when they don’t even try to help there people this is truly sad prayers to all the families and Community that something will change you guys dont deserve to loose any more chrildren
Please explain to me why so many Canadians were so moved by the photo of one child they went to such extraordinary measures but so many Canadians are also dying because of circumstances beyond their control and there is no outcry for them to be helped.by these same compassionate people. Neither can escape social and economic circumstances. Why does not Health and Safety Departments not have a responsibility to these Canadians to make sure the basics; are at least provided for all regardless of location and race but simply as Canadians?
