Val D’Or police investigation shines light on community’s most vulnerable people

Four months ago, the city of Val D’Or, Que., was rocked by allegations made by Aboriginal women.

They accused a number of officers of assault and sexual assault against teh Surete du Quebec.

The provincial government launched an investigations led by the Montreal police and two Indigenous investigators.

The allegations are shining a light on a bad situation.

And revealing a mostly unknown aspect of life of some of the most vulnerable people in our society, sex trade workers.
