A child welfare case that has taken a long road through the Canadian Human Rights Commission will soon come to an end.

The complaint was filed seven years ago by the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society and the Assembly of First Nations.

It alleges the federal government short-changes First Nations children in the child welfare system.

The final arguments begin next week in Ottawa.
