Trial starts for 4 people accused of killing mother of 3 in Alberta

Four people charged in the 2019 homicide of Nature Dupperon, 25, and a mother of three from Bigstone Cree Nation, appeared in court Monday.

Kala Bajusz and Grayson Eashappie pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in her death.

Two others, Tyra Muskego and Buddy Underwood pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery.

Dupperon was kidnapped in Edmonton and left to die in the woods off the Trans Canada Highway near Hinton, Alta.

An autopsy showed that Dupperon died from a fentanyl and methamphetamine overdose.
