Thunderchild band in election turmoil

With feuding electoral officers and an appeal board taking over band management, Saskatchewan’s Thunderchild First Nation has had their election cancelled and rescheduled until December.

With feuding electoral officers and an appeal board taking over band management, Saskatchewan’s Thunderchild First Nation has had their election cancelled and rescheduled until December.

Operating without a chief and council for over a week, the band claims it is business as usual while they await word from Indian Affairs to see if they will be put under third party manager.
