The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations has responded to threats of legal action from suspended Chief Guy Lonechild.

Vice-chief Morley Watson said Lonechild won his post as head of the FSIN because he hid a drinking and driving charge.

“Lonechild would not have received…support had this fact been known,” said Watson in a statement.

Lonechild was eventually convicted of the charge.
