Shawn Atleo discusses split among chiefs leading up to meetings next week

First Nations leaders will meet next week in Whitehorse for the Assembly of First Nations annual general assembly.

But there will be a few chiefs missing.

Some are instead attending a separate gathering at the Onion Lake Cree Nation.

It’s a protest against what they say is the ineffectiveness of the AFN.

National Chief Shawn Atleo spoke to APTN National News Thursday.
