SASKATOON
–The body of a 16-year-old boy was found New Year’s day by police in a Saskatoon ally, police said.

Police said they believe that Bryton Stevenson, 16, was murdered and his death may be linked to city gangs.

“We don’t know the events that lead up to his death,” said Saskatoon police spokeswoman Alyson Edwards. “Now that we know who he is we’re

trying to piece together the events that led to his death.”

Police said the body was identified after Stevenson’s family came forward after seeing a photo of his sweater that had been released to the media following the discovery of the body.

Police were tipped to the location of the body after it was spotted by a passerby
