Residential school survivors will have access to police records

APTN National News
Survivors who attended one of the worst residential schools will now have access to police records regarding the school and its teachers.

A judge ordered the federal government to hand over thousands of documents.

It’s a big victory for the 60 survivors that took the feds to court.

APTN’s Delaney Windigo has more.

I am happy that the judge made this decision………I know one family whose child died there, he drowned in pond on the grounds trying to rescue another child…..Yet the parents were told very little what happened to him, and it was only after20 plus years of lobbying were they eventually were able to bring him home.
