A new relationship was forged at the foot of Parliament Hill Tuesday.

Members of the Grand Council of the Crees and the Federal government met briefly to sign off on a new governance agreement.

“The governance agreement will provide the Cree First Nations with much needed stability and security,” said Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come. “It defines financial arrangements with Canada … and we can for the first time plan for the long term.”
