Quebec City MMIWG hearings tackle the prison system, colonialism

 

The justice system continues to be the topic at the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls hearings in Quebec City Thursday.

The commissioners focused their attention on the prison system and how colonialism has played a role in the over-representation of First Nation, Metis and Inuit people in Canada’s penitentiaries.
