Firefighters in Vancouver are being accused of extinguishing a sacred fire.

The firefighters descended on one of the camps of the Occupy Vancouver movement.

With the help of Vancouver police, they came to douse a fire in a barrel some of the demonstrators had insisted had been lit and sanctified by First Nation elders.

Whether or not this is true, it did result in a lot of pushing and shoving.

Eventually, the firefighters put out the flames.

That brought a warning of a curse on those who extinguished the fire.
