Many communities in Nunavut prohibit alcohol but still have major problems with public intoxication.
The hamlet of Pangnirtung wants to introduce a public nuisance bylaw they hope will keep booze off the streets.
If approved, people found drunk in public would be fined as much as $1,000.
The bylaw will be introduced this week.
