North Bay, Ontario hoping for reconciliation with First Nation peoples after ice hut fiasco

The community of North Bay is holding a series of reconciliation events to try and improve relations with First Nation peoples in the area.

This comes after a local company said it would not rent ice huts to First Nations fishers.

    Is there a systemic problem with companies with such idiotic views/racist attitudes in North Bay?
    If there isn’t, then this really is just an issue with one business/person. Why the reconciliation process with a city, unfortunately this will happen now and again with bonehead people saying/doing racist things, but one person stating such things doesn’t represent a whole city.
    If this isn’t a systemic problem in North Bay then an apology to First Nations/Chief may be warranted from Mayor as to show this isn’t accepted.
    This term reconciliation seems like the new fad, and if done every time an issue happens this will make the real meaning of conciliation meaningless.
    If this ice hut rental company has such views, then I suspect it won’t be in business to long, or worthless to sell.
