New history curriculum puts First Nation front and centre

Educator Harvey McCue has created, in partnership with Long Lake #58 First Nation, a history curriculum for that community.

It explains everything from what the band council does to the community’s relationship with Nishnawbe Aski Nation, to historical events like the Robinson-Huron Treaty, the 1969 White Paper, the blockade of the CN tracks in 1990, and the importance of baking bannock.

It look less than a year to develop.

And it is something every First Nation will undoubtedly want.
