Montreal mulls creation of ‘wet shelter’

Shelter would allow residents to consume controlled amounts of alcohol

Montreal is looking into the possibility of opening a wet shelter which would be a place where homeless people can drink alcohol in controlled intervals instead of being kicked-out.

Since Indigenous people make up a disproportionate number of the city’s homeless, this could be good news for those losing the battle to addition and the cold.
