Members of Siksika Nation blocking construction of homes over location

Some members of the Siksika First Nation in Alberta have stopped construction of homes with a blockade.

They say the area is flood prone and want it changed.

APTN’s Chris Stewart has the story.

  1. its not just about location, did you even talk to the people?
    its about not being consulted, the chief didnt even have a representative from the people at the meetings when the locations were decided. some of the people at little washington are still in their homes, and they dont want their community destroyed.
    The council wouldnt share the financials, something any member in siksika has the right to request, especially the flood relief money. why is that?
