Manitoba RCMP arrest female youths in death of woman, 19, on Sagkeeng

The RCMP is now ruling the suspicious death in Sagkeeng First Nation a homicide confirming the victim is a 19-year-old woman from Powerview.

Two female youths, 17 and 16, have been arrested for second-degree murder and are currently in police custody.

Police said the victim was reported missing April 23 and later that night police located the victim’s body near a residence in Sagkeeng First Nation.

Police are still at the scene investigating.

News of the death has been circulating on social media, including videos of the alleged murder. APTN has seen one of the videos and is not publishing it.

It appears to show one girl kicking the victim in a stairwell.

    1. Prayers going out to your Community and in hopes that the Family of the girl. Immediately pursue some sort of legal action in respect to the awful live stream of what happened. This is just so wrong and unbelievable that we have our own CHILDREN capable of doing this. Under age should not be applied to the perpetrators. GOD BLESS your Community sending LOVE and LIGHT to Srena’s family.
