As concern grows among First Nations over proposed federal changes to the Indian Act it was Manitoba’s chiefs’ turn to chime in Thursday.

Leaders of the major treaty organizations in the province came together to plan how to derail the progress of Bill C-428.

On the surface, the changes appear mostly benign, but Aboriginal leaders say it’s not what’s in bill that’s sparking controversy.
