The trailer is known as Camp Cloud – a makeshift surveillance post set up by land defenders trying to stop the expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
The camp has been set up for about two months with no incident until Tuesday night when police tried to remove the trailer according to land defender, Yuni Urchin.
Urchin climbed up on the roof of the trailer to stop police from moving it at the gates of Kinder Morgan’s tank farm in Burnaby, B.C.
“Just wanna show you there are two police here, hiding here, sneaking behind my back trying to get up here,” said Urchin on Facebook Tuesday night.
When APTN arrived to Camp Cloud Wednesday the RCMP were still on the scene but there had been no arrests.
As for Urchin, she spent the night on the roof of the trailer and said she wasn’t going anywhere.
A tow truck was hooked up to the trailer ready to haul it away but couldn’t because Urchin was on the roof.
The federal government approved Kinder Morgan’s expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline in late 2016, allowing the company to add a second pipeline from Edmonton to Burnaby.
