Iqaluit residents still under boil water advisory – here’s why

In October Iqaluit’s 8,000 residents were told not to drink the water from their taps because it was contaminated with petroleum from a leak.

They were forced to go to the river, drink bottled water, or get their water from trucks delivering to different parts of Nunavut’s capital.

At the beginning of January, people started to once again notice an odd smell coming from their taps.
